Journalists file complaints over allegations of police brutality during the G20 summit

Four journalists have lodged complaints with the Office of the Independent Police Review Director over allegations of police brutality during the G20 summit.
The civilian-led entity, which was created last October, is accountable to the Attorney General’s office and investigates public complaints against the province’s police associations. At least a dozen complaints have been received so far.
“I’ll be looking at the whole issue (and if there) is a pattern of behaviour, I do have a mandate to conduct a systemic review,” director Gerry McNeilly said.
The four journalists each claim to have been victims of police brutality while covering demonstrations.
