Bilderberg German Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg made a flying visit to nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman at an undisclosed position in the Mediterranean Sea, south of Sicily on June 14, 2010.
Guttenberg also visited the Bundeswehr German Navy frigate Hessen, which is part of the convoy of the carrier on its way to Iran as part of a massive build up of military resources in the region.
The visit comes as Saudi Arabia denied giving Israel permission to use its airspace to bomb Iran and amid reports that a discovery of significant mineral resources in Afghanistan is a pro-war PR media hoax.
The Bilderberg group are widely believed to be in favour of a strike on Iran to start a wider conflict for their profit after their latest meeting in Sitges, Spain, at the beginning of June.
Last week, Guttenberg made a surprise push to scrap conscription in Germany, paving the way for German troops to fight abroad. Conscripts are barred from serving abroad by the Constitution.
