After Arizona’s immigration law and especially since Cinco de Mayo, thing have gotten worse. I’m on vacation now and have watched more TV than I should. It’s been nonstop news reports about boycotts, drugs, kidnappings, flags, murders, and racism. Today, I find out that a girls’ basket ball team can’t go to Arizona because of a “threat to their safety.” Yesterday, people misunderstood a post I made on learning Spanish, thinking I was telling them to learn Spanish, and all hell broke loose. I was just offering a resource to help learn Spanish.
Now this movie, Machete by Robert Rodríguez, is coming out. It’s being released by Twentieth Century FOX. Granted I have just seen the trailer, but my God, is this helpful now? I’m not calling for a ban. That goes against my libertarian values, but I do wonder at the timing.

I’m sure some will say it’s just a joke. Maybe it was intended as a joke when made, or maybe not. Still, its coming out now seems fishy to me. The country is being torn apart into Red States and Blue States, Left and Right, liberal and conservative, Republican and Democrat, Teapartiers and what? Progressives? Obamanites? And now Hispanics against other Americans.
People are getting scared, and what is the media doing? Playing up the stories. Showing more and more outrageous stories so people can justify vilifying their supposed enemies.
And now this movie.
Is this accidental or planned?
Who benefits if there are race riots?
The State.
Would race riots be an excuse for a national emergency? Martial law? Wouldn’t people even beg for law and order? Wouldn’t the State be happy to comply?
Statists on the Left and Right will be happy. While all the time they argue with each other, their beloved State will grow in power. The collectivist, the communitarians, the State idolators will get their way. In the meantime, the people will watch the two sides argue, oblivious to the manipulation, thinking they they are free and have a choice in the matter.
It’s easy to see a horrible event causing a riot now. Anyone can see that, but the administration has not helped calm the situation. Instead they have made things worse. Attorney General Holden, who has already condemned the law, admitted today in Congress that he hadn’t even read the law! Obama makes accusations of racism or makes jokes, but jokes that ridicule and annoy his opponents.
Now you may be for the law or against the law, but who’s your real enemy? Who’s trying to get you angry and fearful? And what happens to YOU if violence breaks out? Even if you do not take part in any violence, even if you are far away from the violence, what could happen? What could happen if there were riots, a national emergency, martial law? Congress wouldn’t be able to do anything for six months. And in six months? Congress has given away most of its power anyway. Both parties have given their president more power whenever they could. As Ron Paul has said, “Congress is irrelevant now.”
Next time you see some outrageous news story, think who’s behind the story. Does it make you feel more tolerant or less tolerant? Does the story make you want the government to do something? If it does, think again.
Now if you’re a FOX fan, you’re most likely appalled at all the new regulations, taxes, and power grabs of the Obama administration. That’s good. You should be. But hidden in the news are other stories, usually about terrorism, drug laws, and illegal immigration where the administration is shown as not doing enough. And so you call for them to do more, without realizing that that’s what the State wants. Their failure is an excuse for you to give them what they want.
And if you are on the Left, busy watching CNN and MSNBC, you’re busy supporting the State in it’s domestic plans for the economy, education, health care, and environment. Your desire to help your fellow citizen is giving more control over to the State. The confusion of society with the State, means society loses power and the State gains power.
When your side is in power, you think that the government won’t commit the crimes you worry about when the other side is in power. Under Bush, the Republicans trusted him with the Patriot Act and all his so called “Compassionate Conservatism” was really a disguise to grow the government domestically. They were all against the Department of Education, but let No Child Left Behind go through. Under Obama, the anti-war crowd is suddenly silent. The Patriot Act, so hated under Bush, continues as law, and the liberals say nothing.
As I said in the previous post, the common call to crack down on employers will make it difficult for people to work without the permission of the State. And everyone seems to like that idea. That’s a dead giveaway that somethings wrong. When the stupid and evil parties get together, something stupid and evil is going to happen. It may be called bipartisanship, but it’s still stupid and evil.
What are they calling for again? Cracking down on employers who hire undocumented workers. MOST undocumented workers are illegal aliens, but some are citizens who don’t want Big Brother watching. Don’t you see the danger? Don’t you see the danger when the State has control over your employment, your health, your education, your access to information, your ability to travel? Doesn’t that sound like a police state? And still you think you live in a free country?!
Both sides, Red and Blue, Right and Left are giving the State more and more power each day. You give the State power, thinking it will protect you from the other side. You give the State power, thinking it will protect you from terrorism. You give the State power, thinking it will protect you from poverty, hunger, illness, death.
But let’s just think of terrorism for now. The Nazis stopped terrorism in Germany too. Granted it turned out to be false flag terrorism. The US Government of course wouldn’t do that, but nevertheless, there was no terrorism in Nazi Germany with all their strict rules to protect the people. North Korea doesn’t have much of a problem with terrorism either. China? Nope not there either.
But how many people have governments killed? How many people have terrorists killed? How many people has big business killed? How many people have illegal aliens killed? But still the sheep look to the State for their safety. In the meantime in the increasingly Dis-United States, hatred is growing, fueled by irresponsible news reports and movies that are indistinguishable from propaganda.
The different sides feels justified and victimized. No one will win. Everyone will lose, because they will again look to the State to protect them.
